EMA CHALLENGES CALIFORNIA TO BE GREEN
The Environmental Media Association (EMA), in cooperation with Southern California Edison, Green Seal, and the Institute for Local Government are issuing a challenge to ten southern California cities to be recognized as a “California Green Community” by 2012.

Santa Clarita is transforming the once-neglected Old Town Newhall area into a neighborhood of mixed residential and commercial uses that are strategically close to public transit services and centered on streets that are safe and pedestrian friendly.
 
 
SANTA CLARITA RECOGNIZED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORTS, MAYOR DISCUSSES NEWHALL DEVELOPMENT PLANS
Today, the city was recognized for its participation in environmental awareness and sustainability. Representatives of California Green Cities, Southern California Edison, and Environmental Media Association (EMA) attended the press conference at the Canyon Theatre Guild in Old Town Newhall to award and congratulated Santa Clarita for creating and putting into effect a plan that benefits our environment.
